Kristian Gohlke, M.Sc. Digital Media, is a researcher, design engineer and interaction design consultant. His work explores the interactions and frictions between humans and technology – embedded within the context of their perceptions and actions.
Gohlke is Associate Professor for Interaction Design & Product Design at the Bauhaus-University Weimar, where he also conducts research on the future of tangible user-interfaces, as part of his ongoing doctoral project: 'Exploring Bio-Inspired Fluidic Soft Actuators and Sensors for the Design of Shape Changing Tangible User Interfaces'.
He is also a co-initiator of the ongoing Bauhausinteraction Colloquium, an interdisciplinary lecture series which addresses contemporary topics in technology, arts and design, and the humanities through talks of internationally renowned speakers.
As part of his freelance engagements he creates and realizes interactive installations for clients such as Native Instruments, Red Bull or the LEGOLAND theme parks, and works as a professional UX- and Interaction Design Consultant. In the past he has also extensively conducted live AV performances for various bands and festivals.
